International Nurses Day Celebration. May.12, 2012.
The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.MedicalUniversity celebrated the International Nurses Day for the second time on May 12th in memory of Florence Nightingale.
Theme of International Nurses Day 2012: “Closing the Gap: From Evidence to action”.
The chief guest for this event was Dr. V.S Vijay, M.S orth., D.Orth. Honorable Minister for Health, Govt. of Tamil Nadu and Pro-Chancellor, The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and Hon. Thiru. M.M Rajendran I.A.S (Retd) Former Governor of Odisha was Guest of Honour.
During this occasion, Life Time Achievement Awards, Best Doctor Awards, Best Teacher Awards and Best Nurses Awards, were conferred on the luminaries in Medicine and Nursing field.
Events like Quiz, Elocution and Culturals were also conducted and winners were awarded with certificate and prize. Continuing Nursing Education session from 11.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m was conducted based on the Nursing day theme.
