Indo US Winter Symposium, 7th and 8th, January, 2012
The Silver Jubilee Celebrations of this University had a academic start in the form of the Indo US winter symposium, which has expert speakers from the US and from Chennai delivering talks on various specialized topics during this two day symposium, held on 7th and 8th of January, 2012, at the Senate Hall of this University.
The Symposium was a held in association with the American Tamil Medical Association (ATMA) and had 8 Eminent speakers from India and 9 eminent speakers from USA delivering lectures on recent advances in Orthopedics, Diabetology, OBGYN, Assisted Reproduction, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Cardiothoracic surgery, Medical Education and Patient Care.
It was an academic feast attracting about 120 registrants, ranging from post graduates to practicing clinicians to Professors of medical colleges. Free registration was offered for the benefit of the Post graduates. All the participants were awarded certificates. This educational activity was awarded 10 credit points by the Centre for CME Accreditation, The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. The registrants were treated to a sumptuous meal after the rigorous scientific proceedings.
During the inaugural ceremony, Dr. CK Palani and Dr. Vellore Parithivel were awarded Visiting Professorship (international) of the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGRMedicalUniversity by the Vice Chancellor.
